The CRH380A was designed and built by the Chinese company CSR Qingdao Sifang Locomotive & Rolling Stock Co. Ltd, and was first introduced in 2010. It has a top speed of 380 km/h (236 mph) and is currently the fastest train in operation in China. The train is powered by electric traction and has a maximum power output of 22,800 kW.
